Nov 26 trip to Ubin

yes yes i know it's late. but at least i managed to find some time to update some past memories.

Our group of so called "youths" headed for Ubin. And it was a pretty enjoyable and tiring trip. No mosquitoes came to haunt me, and this was quite surprising because compared to the last time i went, they really went for blood.

Some pics on the way to Changi port...

The sunlight seemed to be quite glaring that day..

Next, we headed for Ubin via a boat driven by a grumbling uncle.. Shouted at us even before we were his customers(i mean safely on the boat). Guess he was just trying to vent his anger after losing some weekend $.

But in the end, we managed to withstand the "storm" and reached Ubin without any casualties..

Next thing, we were already choosing the $4 per day bikes and were eager to go..

There were some miscommunication and soon 4 of the group went on their own mini adventure. Realising that, we had to go back and forth to find the missing guys.

After the regroup, here is a happy-go-lucky guy who seems to be relishing this trip..

Zongwei finally led us to a checkpoint and he looked shag. (Consider himself a sergeant). Guess where the owners of the bikes went to?

They went to pay the old wild boar a visit. Can tell that he's old by the white hair "othello-ing" the black.

Then also found some really cute hamsters. And they certainly looked hungry.

So after 3-4 hours of endless cycling, we were back to the start point. Yes, time for some cooling coconut juices.. I can really feel my body cooled down by the drink. Really wondered whether was it planned for coconuts trees to be grown on tropical islands..

And after that it's time to leave this island, and we took some pictures on the boat.. this time the driver was quite a bit of a contrast from the earlier ones, very friendly indeed..

Time to stop writing, or I would be in Malaysia by the time i upload all the pics.
Wow, really need a break from work, coz the workload really isn't for anyone who is sane. So guys when you see me, excuse me if I look into space for longer than expected.

Going to KL soon, will TRY to take some pics there (but seriously KL nothing much to take).

IPG Team Bonding

On 25th Nov 06, the IPG Firmware Team headed out to the east for some fun. Downtown East that is~ 13 FW plus 2 SW members went for a day of fun and laughter, thanks to the company which recognizes the need to have such kind of team bonding.

Haha cut the crap lah.. So formal writing for what.. not essay what. Anyway we headed for the Escape Theme Park first. Quite cheap, only $6. Normally, would take $16.50 for the entrance fee. There weren't many nice games as the 360 degress Cadbury ride was down, and I wasn't really interested in most of the games either.

So what did we do next? OH yes.. we went for the go-kart, and it was really nice, and would be even nicer if we could go for more rounds.

Ready.. Get Set..

Felt like I was playing the mario kart game, just that no banana skin for me to throw at the guys..

Viking next:

Betrand must be thinking: "Oh no, I'm not a pirate.. please let me out of this ship :@~~~"

~~~Splash!~ Even before we planned to go for Wild Wild Wet, some people were too eager to get wet. So let them be...
Took some photos before we went for lunch..
Then.. headed for Wild Wild Wet!~ It's the first time most of us were going there, so quite blur what's in store for us..
Wave Pool..
UnderWave Pool..
And Slack Pool..
Oh i can say WWW is more for family with small children as I'm sure the children will really love it.. But for middle-age guys like me, haha.. Think I would prefer the beach!~:>
Ok guys it's late, let me end this off with.. a clip. Hope the screaming doesn't sound too exaggerating..
Thanks you guys for the memorable day..~!
Workaholic
Wah, these days really never get to see the sunlight much.. keep working and working.. at this rate, my youth will be depleted soon and my brain cells will die fast. I have to say this is not the right way to work. It's either my management sucks or the workload for me is really too much. I still feel it's the latter.
These days, I can worry about work even during my meal times, even at home. And worse still dream of work. I really mild this stressful period, and envy the days when I could slack at home and pah game after work. Even go for a run or something.
See my pc desktop and you will know..
Luckily there's a Saturday and a Sunday in a week. Or I can kiss goodbye my life.
Why send the goat flying?
Read the Straits Times today, and was quite pissed off by an article where some wako kias flung an innocent goat into the deep sea, hoping that this sacrificial act will cost the mud gushing to stop from a gas exploration site. The outflow has caused massive damage to big areas of land, and also caused hundred of thousands of people jobless and homeless.
Why go and drill leh? Because of the oil and gases needed for fuel lor.. Going by the demand for fuel nowadays, this has to happen inevitably. So I'm really sorry for the goat, paying for our sins. But the way they flung the goat really makes me sick. Not because I'm born in the year of the Goat.
Rainy day today, so take care guys.
IPPT
Hoho.. passed my IPPT. Got silver. 20 points. Dun play play k.. after 3 years of ORD life, I still managed to maintain my standard. And thanks to the government for the $200 incentive.
It was really kind of packed on that day. Full of ORD guys coming into MAJU camp and taking their number tags and waiting for their turns to take the stations. Didn't know taking IPPT can be so draggy(waited a total of 3 hours)..
I can say I would love to be in MAJU camp during my army days. Why? Opposite the camp is Ngee Ann Poly, and I could still hear a group of girls cheering for some evening event. Heh heh.. not like my Bukit Panjang camp. Only get to see some aunties coming into their offices during my guard duties.
Okay, back to the IPPT. After finishing all the static stations, we got ready for our 2.4km run. I was in the first detail, and when we started, I was dashing to be in front and I realised I was first for the first 400metres. I was thinking, " Shit, no one for me to pace with."
Suddenly out of nowhere, a guy sped across and disappeared. I was hoping to pace him but I couldn't even spot him after some time. Therefore throughout the whole 2.4km, I was running alone. The rest were either too slack or they really dun mind coming back for remedial training. In the end, I was only happy to reach the end within the silver timing.
Eventually, it was a good experience of going back to army days and doing army stuff, and still getting some incentive. Hoho..
Death Note the movie
Death Note - I was so hooked to the story that once I got home after watching it, I went to youtube to watch all the anime.
I like the story very much. But I have always been awed by the way japanese write comics stories. Not the usual good prevail over bad. Justice done to the evil.
But japanese writers write about the people's extreme thoughts and sophiscated conceptions, bringing the stories very much to life. And the characters in the stories are so strong in their personalities.
But similar to Naruto, the bad characters in Death Note are bad for a reason. They are simply not people who grow up just to kill. Their minds were either corrupted or psychoed along the way.
Anyway, other than the lame heart attacks acted out by the cursed people, I cannot complain much about this movie. Hopefully the 2nd movie comes out quick. :)~~
Gloomy Sunday
Seriously, cant the Indonesians farmers wake up their idea? Burn forest like burn incense like dat. Not that we mind, but the incense just keep drifting to your neighbours. For smokers, please dun complain about the haze, as you will be shooting on your own toes.
Nevertheless, it created a "Genting" feeling, but with the heat instead of the cold.
Anyway, I find something quite interesting today. As I was walking home, the plants on just below the flats started to bloom flowers. You can take a look below, and they are sure beautiful.
I was quite happy to see the flowers, but at the same time I was curious about why the flowers seem so colourful and bright at this period when winter is arriving.
So I thought a closer look.
Realised that the flowers were made of plastic paper.... :@
Pui Chao Nuar.. it looked so real to be fake. Suddenly something clouded my mind. Wah next time everywhere I go, want to go closer to smell a flower, somebody from the bush jumped out, "WAHAHAHA you stupid idiot, this flower is fake lah. Still go smell."
Then my reputation will be tarnished.
Yes, the effort is there though. To tie up all the fake flowers on the plants surely takes up a considerable amount of time. But please, dun make the green artificial.. If want, tell me, I can just help to print some big quality pictures of plants, then we just place them everywhere. Less effort rite?
