I was watching CastAway on TV weeks ago, and I can say it's another classic by Tom Hanks again.

It started with a guy who was working for FedEx, but found himself stranded alone in an island after a plane crash. So he was left with some FedEx parcels in the struggle of his life. In the hope that one fine day, he might be able to return home, to tell his family about his stories. Survival seemed to be the only matter he could think of.

At times, he almost found himself insane with the lifeless days he went through with no one to speak to, leaving himself with loneliness and despair. So he created his friend in a volleyball, one of the FedEx parcels which ended up with him. He talked to the volleyball named Wilson, and at times quarrelled with "him" in order to keep his sanity in check. So when the day he ventured out to sea to hope for freedom from the desolated island, he made the greatest move which would determine the rest of his life.

Unfortunately, out at sea, it's a challenge against the big tidal waves, or rather Mother Nature. At the point where he felt chances of returning home were getting higher, he lost his best friend Wilson. Wholly devastated, he let fate decide his outcome as he threw away his paddler and ceased to hope. But alas, a cargo freighter came to his rescue.

He was brought back to his hometown, but reality sometimes proves to be the worst calamity. His wife remarried. He could only blame himself for going to work that day...

Okay, Im not trying to be narrator for wikipedia or what, but what has left a bitter sweet memory after watching the show is attributed to the following "stints" in the wonderful show:
1) Tom Hanks was back to the town, and describing all his ordeals he had during the years cast away. During this take, I noticed the Academy Award winnder for Best Actor spill out his sorrows, his emotional desperation, the hardship he went through and the hope which glimpsed in his eyes like a shining star. This take took about 5 minutes, and the focus was on him all along (meaning no cut scenes in between). From this, it reinforced my belief why he was such a good actor, even after watching Forest Gump and Saving Private Ryan.
2) The last part really summed up Chuck's mood (Tom Hanks). After he delivered his final parcel which he had kept for 4 years without opening, he knew that the parcel was the light that kept his days bright all along, as he wished he could one day return the favour by sending the parcel back to it's destination. So what after that? He definitely was lost, and might be mosre lost than he was at the island. No hope to cling to anymore, no families to be with, this finale really made me feel that a person is most vulnerable when he's lost. Christians will now thinkof the 3 words Faith Hope and Love.

Hopefully this will not be the last movie that I watched alone.

Guys, if you havent joined facebook, you might have missed out on some fun stuff which I admit even a 27-year-old like me will find childish, but just can't stop indulging in them.

Remember the retro games like Pacman? you can actually play them there, and it really is fun to be playing a game as old as you, with memorable moments coming back.. I remember the first time I saw PacMan was at Genting Highlands Arcade. Everyone was changing their notes into 20 cents (ringgit) and jamming in those PacMan machines. Of course there were other games like Contra and stuff, it really is a challenge recalling what I have played when I was 8 years old. Remember I spent a 50 cents on a mini-train which moves around in an 8-figure track, and it went on for 30 minutes without stopping! Nowadays when you play these kiddy ride, 2 minutes is all they give you, and halfway through the song, the vehicle will stop.

I am particularly impressed in the applications add-ons, and never knew that PHP programming can be so powerful. All credits to the staff who did it.

Here you can capture memories of the 80's, like the cartoons in those days, the panini stickers we buy to stick on the album book, the snacks we eat (Kaka esp.), and the electronic handheld games we loved (Western Bar!). October is ending.. Hereby wish all my october birthday friends a happy birthday! (Sounds a bit unsincere?) Would have bought all of you presents if I have not been broke these days. But I always was broke.

Hmm.. so what did I do this month? Oh yes~ I went to settler's cafe with all my retro buddies. It turned out quite fun, although we only played some boards games and stuff. But do not belittle the board games, they are not like the usual monopoly or aeroplane game you have at home (yes we still see some weird people going there to play monopoly). These board games cannot be found in those usual bookstores and some of them are not even local games and we needed the staff there to explain to us how to play them. Okay, these days seldom get to play soccer with my old friends. Guess all of us are busy (or half-hearted), so find a few hours in the weekend will be really tough. Really wanted to try playing field soccer to see whether my fitness is improved by my weekly runs. And it's feels much more professional than playing in basketball courts. So who is interested in having an extra midfielder like Steven Gerard in his team free, please let me know. :]

Okay going to find some illegal streaming channels so that I can catch Arsenal vs Liverpool.

Never did I realised I have PCC for 534 times up to today. Dun be mistaken. Play Chinese Chess! Won 199 times, lost 323 times and drawn 12 times. Hmm.. goes to show after so many games I'm still below par.

Chess is a funny game. You can be thinking of all ways to defeat the opponent. But if the opponent thinks 1 step ahead of you, most likely you are dead. A great chess player often has good in memory and at mathematics. But usually for us amateurs, even the slightest of distraction can cause the loss of a chess piece, and this usually leads to a defeat. But the kick of it is when you can win opponents even when you are in a handicapped situation.

Guess I have spent 8010 minutes(534 x avg 15 min.) or rather 133.5 hours, or rather 5.56 days playing chess. Not to count the previous games I have played with my friends and cousin, I wonder whether this is considered time wasting. Im not really a good tactician (or I would be playing C&C the whole day), but likes to exercise my rusty mind.

Okay, time to ciaoz. It feels weird being able to blog everyday. Hahaha.

Never expected October to come so fast. Got loads of friends who are librans. But I'm going to pretend I have forgotten their birthdays.

Recently realised that I'm quite obssessed with jogging. Because I have even bought an expensive shoes to prepare for my dream of getting gold in IPPT. Hmm.. but sometimes I really find it difficult to achieve the 10 minutes mark for 2.4km. How to? Would appreciate if anyone can provide any method which will surely work. The monetary award of $400 is not really that enticing when one has to train so hard and run till he drops before he can reach the end by 10minutes. But what is motivating me is that I have never gotten gold once. And the fact that I'm 27 means that the possibility of getting gold is getting lesser year by year. Therefore will give myself 2 months to reach the target which looks so impossible.

Hmm.. long time never meet up with friends. Never play badminton for some time. Or even soccer(tried jioing a few times and and all fly aeroplane last min). And maybe go overseas soon would be great. Anyone joining me? Myanmar looks interesting. :@
