October is ending.. Hereby wish all my october birthday friends a happy birthday! (Sounds a bit unsincere?) Would have bought all of you presents if I have not been broke these days. But I always was broke.

Hmm.. so what did I do this month? Oh yes~ I went to settler's cafe with all my retro buddies. It turned out quite fun, although we only played some boards games and stuff. But do not belittle the board games, they are not like the usual monopoly or aeroplane game you have at home (yes we still see some weird people going there to play monopoly). These board games cannot be found in those usual bookstores and some of them are not even local games and we needed the staff there to explain to us how to play them. But it's really cool for groups of 6-10 who want to shout out loud without getting shown the finger on the mouth. Here is the website: http://sg.settlerscafe.com/

Okay, these days seldom get to play soccer with my old friends. Guess all of us are busy (or half-hearted), so find a few hours in the weekend will be really tough. Really wanted to try playing field soccer to see whether my fitness is improved by my weekly runs. And it's feels much more professional than playing in basketball courts. So who is interested in having an extra midfielder like Steven Gerard in his team free, please let me know. :]

Okay going to find some illegal streaming channels so that I can catch Arsenal vs Liverpool.

P.C.C

Never did I realised I have PCC for 534 times up to today. Dun be mistaken. Play Chinese Chess! Won 199 times, lost 323 times and drawn 12 times. Hmm.. goes to show after so many games I'm still below par.

Chess is a funny game. You can be thinking of all ways to defeat the opponent. But if the opponent thinks 1 step ahead of you, most likely you are dead. A great chess player often has good in memory and at mathematics. But usually for us amateurs, even the slightest of distraction can cause the loss of a chess piece, and this usually leads to a defeat. But the kick of it is when you can win opponents even when you are in a handicapped situation.

Guess I have spent 8010 minutes(534 x avg 15 min.) or rather 133.5 hours, or rather 5.56 days playing chess. Not to count the previous games I have played with my friends and cousin, I wonder whether this is considered time wasting. Im not really a good tactician (or I would be playing C&C the whole day), but likes to exercise my rusty mind.

Okay, time to ciaoz. It feels weird being able to blog everyday. Hahaha.

October Blues

Never expected October to come so fast. Got loads of friends who are librans. But I'm going to pretend I have forgotten their birthdays.

Recently realised that I'm quite obssessed with jogging. Because I have even bought an expensive shoes to prepare for my dream of getting gold in IPPT. Hmm.. but sometimes I really find it difficult to achieve the 10 minutes mark for 2.4km. How to? Would appreciate if anyone can provide any method which will surely work. The monetary award of $400 is not really that enticing when one has to train so hard and run till he drops before he can reach the end by 10minutes. But what is motivating me is that I have never gotten gold once. And the fact that I'm 27 means that the possibility of getting gold is getting lesser year by year. Therefore will give myself 2 months to reach the target which looks so impossible.

Hmm.. long time never meet up with friends. Never play badminton for some time. Or even soccer(tried jioing a few times and and all fly aeroplane last min). And maybe go overseas soon would be great. Anyone joining me? Myanmar looks interesting. :@

TAG PAINTBALL is FUN!~

3 rookies plus 1 experienced warrior

Tag paintball is fun!~ I was trying very hard to convince myself it's worth it($60). But after playing it, I can say it's kinda memorable and shiok!~ (The pics will explain the shiok-ness)

Regretted not wearing my army uniform that day, as I never realised the shots can be so impactful, it hurt. Got one big scar on my neck now and I'm still wondering who was the champion who shot me.

There was around 16 of us on that day, so we formed into groups of 4. And guessed what, the more enthusiastic ones actually created banners for each group and the names for the teams are: Autobots, Decepticons, Power Rangers and The Incredibles. Guess who won in the end?

Getting ready for the challenge
Zongwei and I reached Orchid Country Club at Yishun awhile before the rest reached and once we signed our "death agreement", we were ready to start. There was a briefing given by the referee there and we learned about the rules of the games and the safety precautions when using the air paintball gun. Mind you, if you strike a fellow within 3 metres, the skin will tear!!~
"Come on, bring on the game!~"

"Heheheh, I'm going to give everyone a head shot!"
Alas, the games started. Each team was supposed to shoot down 2 targets on the enemy side and then to grab a box back to the base. Wow, watching Zongwei grab the first box made me convinced he belongs to the infantry unit, and if Singapore has more of these 'garang' soldiers, think in the near future no one will attack us. (As if)

Army outcast

Mission accomplished!

Maricel taking on the enemies.

"Shit, the box is so far!"

The power rangers !

Bang bang bang!~ When you are in a real battlefield, realise that you do not have much time to think. Luckily, for this game, we could die several times, as long as we go to the medical base, touch it and come back, we would be alive again!~ I was a damn lousy shooter in the army, and I was confident I could make up for it in the games. But the trajectory of the paint balls ejected from the gun was kinda weird. At first, I was trying to really aim using the aiming point, but got tired of it. So from then, it was "rambo" all the way. Rambo means holding two rifles and shoot like machine guns. That's what I did, but only with one gun. Forget about the accuracy.

Butt shot!

Concentration

The rookies~

As the paintballs are quite limited, we had to save up some for the 2nd half. This was not easy as it was quite difficult to guage when you had all the paintballs already packed in the container, waiting to be released. And the paintballs proved to be quite tasty!~ I was shot on the mask once, and the paint went into the filter. The paint taste was a bit weird but a little sweet. Think it's better to taste it yourself because it's quite hard to describe. But don't worry, it's made of veggies!~

Nolan aiming for the target

Moon the sniper

After the games, some of the bruises of my colleagues were quite serious. And the common point to be hit had to be the upper arm. Haha.. imagine being hit on the private parts. Wow, that would be hitting jackpot.

In the end, the power rangers and decepticons were joint winners. But nevermind that, it was truly fun. I would recommend this to any group of crazy guys who do not mind getting bruises all over just for a few hours of wargame. Can be a bit expensive, but good for a try though! :D

That must be painful..

Thats all folks!~

IPG Farewell Dinner

It's time to say farewell to the IPG guys. Most of you by now will be working in other teams. But still must say it was a great pleasure working with all of you. Each of you had contributed to this project so well done. Cheers~!

Went to Roma Deli with the IPG team for makan. Hope they did not mind the vegetarian food. (Well who minds when they are not the one paying ;p)

Anyway all the best to your future project in T-est!~ (if you are still intending to stay there, that is)

Pizza Time

Some of you guys may already have made pizza before. But for a rookie like me, it really is surprising how easy pizza can be made. And fun too!

Ingredients: Bread, Green and red capsicums, pineapple cubes, mushroom, ham, mozarella cheese, tomato paste, italian herbs (optional)

Steps:

1) Spread tomato paste on bread or pizza base, sprinkle some italian herbs.
2) Spread the ingredients on top of the tomato paste, then add a layer of cheese on top.
3) Send to oven for 5 mins at about 180 degrees celscius. Longer if you are using pizza base.

Well, your pizza is ready!:@~~~~~~

I need a holiday

If my project was not extended, probably I will be planning to go overseas these few coming weeks. Really needed a rest after all the stress and workload, I strongly believe that one engineer is definitely not enough to handle these much work. But the fact is, the company just think you can go on and on like this forever.

That's why I was rather relieved there will not be any upcoming project for my department. Still a bit sad that the effort our guys have put in have seemed to be unrecognized. But happy that no more scrutiny will come from those clients who do not know that we are actually not robots. And one thing, I hate to say that there is really no relationship involved in between our work. Therefore, I will never give way or do any "value-added" service anymore. Just a "yes" or "no" will be the answer to the clients whether they like it or not.

Hmm.. the worrying part is where my colleagues will go after this. For the ones who really want to build their career path here, hopefully they will be going to somewhere they can realise their potential. We cannot help much here, it all depends on the upper management now.

Break time!~ Needs to source out where I can go during this coming break. Hopefully I can recharge my battery then and also have an opportunity to rethink my career path.
