Reflections

Hi guys, its gonna be 2007 soon. How time flies.. I'm going to be 27.
27?!
I don't think i fit the bill to be at this age. Still trying to imagine myself celebrating youth day, still trying hard to distinguish myself so that the cinema staff would not ask for my IC whenever I watch a NC-18 show..
But oh no, a few more years and I'm 30..
Reflecting on what I have done on 2006, I can proudly say that there isn't much achievement. Other than obtaining a paper which costs 15k(which I haven't received from the university), and learning how to drag myself everyday to work in an environment where the workload keeps piling and people remains unappreciated, I have seemed to progress like a snail.
I still carry a indifferent personality which makes people pissed off, and still fail to strike off any item of my bad habit list. And I know I am running out of time to get rid of them, and all these will definitely haunt me in my later years to come.
Friends, how have you been? Hope the next year promises greater things to come in your path. Yes, $$ is undoubtedly important and surely ranked one of the top in our wish list, but remember to do a self-sanity check every now and then. Don't let the external stuff in life become an obsession. Sit down and relax sometimes. Go for a run. It helps.
Okay, any resolution for the new year? Hope my family and friends will have good health the whole year round. And oso, hopefully more people will turn green..(not the face turn green, more vegetarians)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Trip to KL~

Last week, 4 wako kias embarked on a trip to KL. Here are the details.

Date of Trip: 13-15 Dec 06.
People going: 4 (Yaocai, James, Desmond, Jianfen)
Route to KL: By car through 2nd link(Tuas) then North-South line to KL.
Hotel: Swiss Garden

Day One
=======

**8.58am**
After a macdonald breakfast, we headed back to some people's home...
Home??! yeh coz we forgot to bring some stuff.

We headed for Tuas 2nd link thereafter and despite the inexperience of the way to KL, we proceeded to our destination positively. Hiccups are expected along the way, that was why we planned to go earlier.

**11.39AM**
Wow reach Yong Peng, a place for a rest in between the long link up to KL. Have to scan around for roadsigns so that we wouldn't lose our way.

The driver with his car

Went for a drink before we continued the "exciting" journey

**3.31PM**
After stopping at the numerous toll fees stops and for a petrol refill, and coupled with some eyeful watchouts for the exact route to the destination, we managed to reach the hotel. Those roadsigns solely would not really help without the KL maps we have brought along.

**3.51PM**
Went for makan at Blue Boy Mansion. Not really a mansion, but a vegetarian canteen. Yes, it was just situated outside our hotel, so it's kinda hard to miss.

**4.42PM**
Once we got the room, everyone assumed their favourite positions, as usual.
It was family suite with 2 rooms, 1 king-sized bed and 2 single beds. Looks comfortable.

**5.28PM**
We still managed to drag ourselves out of the bed for some shopping at Berjaya Times.
Found some interesting stuff amidst the 13 storeys of shops.
Bought Mr Bean mask here
Designer shoes
Designer shoes

**8.12PM**
PIZZA TIME(the pizzahut we have been a few years back)

**1.33AM**
After the long day, quite tired but we still carried on to play some DD before we slept.

That was for the day one. Wow I think I better post the next 2 days into another post.

Day Two
========
Better not. Morning went for some sauna and nuar in the hotel room before we headed for KLCC - Twin towers.

**2.24PM**
Quite a majestic building. But I was starting to feel a bit sick of shopping..

Here are some pics of the surroundings.

Then went back to hotel after dinner and again to Berjaya Times to get some more stuff..

**9.31PM**
Went to watch soccer (Liverpool vs Charlton) at the Lounge. Still feeling very full and need a rest from all the walking, so did not join Shiping and the rest for dinner. Wow I can say the singers there got really quite powerful voices.

Then back to bed on the cosy bed after some midnight walk with James.

Day Three
========
Yes, the final day.
** 11.15AM **
Ready for set off back to Singapore.
James looked a bit distraught, he couldn't believe the 3 days were going to end.

Yaocai seemed to be warming himself up for the driving later.

**11.42AM**
Bidding the hotel farewell, so took the last picture before we left KL.

3 stooges trying to give the car a push to save some petrol.

It was then some speedy moments back home, and on the way we managed to stop to pee and have some drinks at A&W. :}~~ Nice coke float they have. Hardly see any in SG nowadays..

Really big rain along the way back. Saw some accidents in between. Also managed to avoid an accident with a monkey which was rammed over by a car in front. So the best thing was not able to use our travel insurance for the 3 days.
Yes I needed this break badly.

Nov 26 trip to Ubin

yes yes i know it's late. but at least i managed to find some time to update some past memories.

Our group of so called "youths" headed for Ubin. And it was a pretty enjoyable and tiring trip. No mosquitoes came to haunt me, and this was quite surprising because compared to the last time i went, they really went for blood.

Some pics on the way to Changi port...

The sunlight seemed to be quite glaring that day..

Next, we headed for Ubin via a boat driven by a grumbling uncle.. Shouted at us even before we were his customers(i mean safely on the boat). Guess he was just trying to vent his anger after losing some weekend $.

But in the end, we managed to withstand the "storm" and reached Ubin without any casualties..

Next thing, we were already choosing the $4 per day bikes and were eager to go..

There were some miscommunication and soon 4 of the group went on their own mini adventure. Realising that, we had to go back and forth to find the missing guys.

After the regroup, here is a happy-go-lucky guy who seems to be relishing this trip..

Zongwei finally led us to a checkpoint and he looked shag. (Consider himself a sergeant). Guess where the owners of the bikes went to?

They went to pay the old wild boar a visit. Can tell that he's old by the white hair "othello-ing" the black.

Then also found some really cute hamsters. And they certainly looked hungry.

So after 3-4 hours of endless cycling, we were back to the start point. Yes, time for some cooling coconut juices.. I can really feel my body cooled down by the drink. Really wondered whether was it planned for coconuts trees to be grown on tropical islands..

And after that it's time to leave this island, and we took some pictures on the boat.. this time the driver was quite a bit of a contrast from the earlier ones, very friendly indeed..

Time to stop writing, or I would be in Malaysia by the time i upload all the pics.
Wow, really need a break from work, coz the workload really isn't for anyone who is sane. So guys when you see me, excuse me if I look into space for longer than expected.

Going to KL soon, will TRY to take some pics there (but seriously KL nothing much to take).
